only mommy understands!

border="0" alt="" />

it was so funny tonight. david was at the table eating dinner with chloe & emmi - i was over at the counter trying to fill out some paperwork. chloe was repeating the same thing over & over...david had no idea what she was saying...and i turned around and said "bite" she wants a bite of your food. then when he gave her a bite of the hamburger she said something else to him, and repeated it. once again he told her he didn't know what she was saying...i turned around and said "hot" she is telling you that the bite you gave her is hot. funny how i can translate all of these words that sound SO much alike!! now i don't always know what they are saying, but most of the time i can figure it out.

words are added to their vocabulary each week! emmi has the advantage of having the slightly older sister and so she is an advanced little 15 month old. emmi is impressive because she already knows when her diaper needs to be changed. she will walk up to me and grab the front of her diaper and say "change" -- i was very shocked the first time this happened and she actually had a dirty diaper! now i don't have to doubt her, if she tells me she needs to be changed, she is right! a f
w weeks ago she went pee pee in the potty...although it isn't something that i am pushing...but since they follow me to the bathroom i figure i might as well start prepping them for it. since emmi is so laid back, she will sit on the potty and talk to me which is what lead to her going pee pee. i clapped and yelled and praised her, but of course haven't taken the time to do it since.

chloe on the other hand won't even sit on the potty (most of the time). she will tell you she wants to, but when it comes down to it won't do it. i think i'm going to need to get one of those small potties for her. if we could just get ONE of them potty trained it would be a beautiful thing...do you know how many diapers we go through??!! everytime we turn around somebody smells. today david called me in b/c her needed help. when i arrived, emmi was on the changing table, david was holding her legs back and she had a handful of poop. that makes for a nice clean up job!!

on saturday david was in the living room with chloe & emmi. he heard chloe at the door behind him and when he turned around to look she reached up and unlocked the deadbolt, unlocked the knob opened the door, pushed open the storm door and walked on out!! we're going to have to get a chain or something to put up high to make sure she doesn't just leave the house when she wants!!

we also had to take down chloe's crib a few weeks ago. although she had not climbed out yet...it was getting ready to happen. she could literally put her leg over the rail. so to prevent any major injuries we took down her crib (sigh) and she is sleeping in the pack-n-play for the time being. much closer to the ground IF she decides to try to climb out. we just cannot tackle putting her in a bed just yet -- there is no way we could keep her in it...and she would probably keep emmi up half the night.

there is SO much that they do each day that it would take me all night...so i must stop here for now.

Awww it's so good to hear of how they are growing up. I love the story of the handful of poop, I can just imagine my hubby in this situation. too funny. they have this thing that you can put over door knobs, that makes it near imposible to turn for a kid(and adult), but it might help. I love hearing your stories and am so happy that you are posting more. YaY!!!
