SO that brings me to this afternoon. david works late on mondays and so i thought i would break up our long afternoon/evening together by taking the girls to the park. they had been playing happily outside for about 30 minutes -- "playing happily outside" that SHOULD have been my first clue. at this point they were in the front yard and i called them to put on shoes to go to the park. i got my keys & sunglasses and for some reason went out the back door (not a normal thing for me) and this is what i found...

they have moved on from the small trash can in the house and decided to endulge in the LARGE outside receptacle. WHAT??? needless to say we are NOT going to the park and they have been banned from doing anything or stepping foot in the house until EVERY SINGLE piece has been picked up. and most unforunate for them, david did some shredding this weekend -- they had fun decorating the yard w/ the shreds -- those shreds aren't too much fun now that they have to be picked up.
they never cease to amaze me.

wow...my neices are a mess! :)
oh.my.goodness. all i can do is laugh. but i'm laughing with you, right, cause all you can do is laugh, too. otherwise, you'd cry.
at least picking it all up piece by piece occupied their time while david was gone, huh ;)
yes, i have to laugh. plus, they have recently entered the age/stage where THEY can do the clean-up entirely (for most things). meaning i have to do little on the back end. that is nice. and YES, they were occupied for the next 2+ hours cleaning this mess!! they came in, ate supper and went straight to bed. :0)
...and you didn't spend a dime on gas driving to the park, yet were able to accomplish a primary objective (wearing them out).
Mama's have to find the rainbows--even when it's a difficult search! love the photographic evidence you captured of their escapades!!!
sandy...as much as i hate to admit it, my first thought was "i don't have to go to the park" and it was thought w/ a bit of joy :0) i couldn't resist the photos. i have some others i took during the clean up process. chloe was say "why are you taking my picture?" in a not-so-happy voice. they are priceless photos.
