Allison has been BUSY!!

It gets easier but it doesn't...that is the only way to describe. Although we are still in diapers, all the other "baby" stuff is gone...bottles, cribs, baby food etc. However, we now have talking, sister fights, attitudes, and able-bodied toddlers!!! Can't remember if I posted or not that we moved both of them to toddler beds about 2 months ago. It works nice, but we have to baby gate the room at night because Chloe is apt to getting up and wondering about to see what is going on in the dark. We often wake up in the mornings and find her sleeping on the floor...that is better than falling out of a crib though! She can also climb out of the pack-n-play, so our options of having her "caged" in have been eliminated. Some days she doesn't take a nap. I put her in her room, in her bed...but if she wants to get up, she does. Usually she just plays in there by herself - which is fine. Emmi takes naps on our bed. They have obviously switched roles. Chloe USED to be my sleeper and Emmi wouldn't sleep at all...NOW Emmi is the one that takes consistent naps ranging from 1-2 hours. Of course, the week she started doing this was the week Chloe QUIT taking naps well! Couldn't we all just take naps at the same time???

Chloe & Emmi LOVE each other SO much -- that is so neat to watch. Chloe is SO protective over Emmi if she hears her crying from another room, she goes running calling out "Emmi, Emmi." That doesn't negate the fact that they like to fight and aggrevate each other to no end. Problem is, Chloe weighs about 10 lbs. more than Emmi and she can really hurt her if she isn't careful. She doesn't MEAN to hurt, but it happens anyway. Also, Emmi has learned to play the game too...she knows how to cry to make somebody come running :0)

We have officially bought a little potty (and have plans to buy another one to prevent fights!). Our plans are to spend the week of Thanksgiving attempting to potty train the troops. Emmi has already started getting it. She even wakes up from naps dry (going for about 2-3 hours) and then pee pees when we go to sit on the potty. Chloe on the other hand doesn't have time for things of that nature. There it too much going on elsewhere to worry about going to sit on a potty!! She WILL sit on it, but only because it seems fun to sit there and have mommy sit in front of you and sing songs!!

I have also started working full-time now...but am very thankful that I am only in the office during the preschool hours (tues, wed, thurs from 9:30-1:00) and I do everything else from home. Yes, that means I work at strange hours of the night and weekend BUT it is SO worth it to me to be able to be with Chloe & Emmi during these toddler years!

You are a busy mom! Good luck with the potty training. It must be fun to see the girls' relationship growing and changing. Hang in there and get rest whenever you can. Happy Thanksgiving!
