Our Travel Schedule

Well, our travel schedule is set. The airline tickets have been purchased and hotels booked. We are leaving Charlotte on Friday, Nov. 18 at 5:30pm to fly to LA. David's sister, Ruth, is going with us...and my mom is going too. Ruth is flying to Charlotte from Maryland on the 18th to fly to LA with us. After about a 5 hour flight to LA, we are spending the night at the Embassy Suites near the airport there. On Saturday, we will leave LA at 3:30pm and head for Taipei, Taiwan. This flight will be almost 15 hours...arriving in Taipei at 11:00pm Sunday, Nov. 20. By the time we get to our hotel it will probably be about 1:00am!!

We are staying at the Caesar Park in the heart of Taipei. Many other adoptive families have stayed there and it came highly recommended. After a few hours of sleep (hopefully we CAN sleep!), we will go to the orphanage on Monday morning to pick up Chloe & Emmi at 10:00am (this will be Sunday night at 10:00pm EST). The moment we have been waiting for!!

Wednesday is the 1st of our 2 appointments with the US Consular in order to get Chloe & Emmi's visas so they can enter the US. Thursday is Thanksgiving. Friday we will go back to the US Consular officer to pick up the visas and then our flight leaves Taipei at midnight. We are flying on EVA airlines in the Deluxe Class, in which we have secured bassinets for Chloe & Emmi. We will arrive in LA on Friday, Nov. 25 at about 8:00pm (we are going back in time that day!). Our flight leaves LA at 11:00pm and we arrive in Charlotte at 6:20am Saturday, Nov. 26.
